First Holy Communion is an unforgettable event where children meet Jesus in a special way. The Eucharist, instituted by Christ at the Last Supper, is the greatest Sacrament of the New Covenant. In this sacrament, under the appearances of bread and wine, the Lord becomes food for the soul.
During the Mass, bread and wine are transformed into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The First Communicants receive the Eucharist for the first time and are encouraged to receive it as often as possible to remain close to Jesus. This sacrament is not ordinary food but the bread of eternal life. Jesus promises that whoever eats His flesh and drinks His blood will have eternal life.
